THE PROBLEM WITH E-WASTE
Dispose of E-Waist Responsively
Every year millions of electrical and electronic devices are thrown out as products break or become obsolete. These discarded items are considered e-waste and can become a serious threat to health and to the environment if they are not disposed of and recycled properly.
Common e-waste products include computers, laptops, mobile phones, televisions, wire, and many other household products. Millions of tones of e-waste are recycled using unsound procedures or dumped in trash cans or at the community dump. When e-waste can release up to 1000 different chemical substances into the environment, including lead. Pregnant women and children are particularly vulnerable.
For this reason, it is critically important to dispose of e-waste at appropriate recycling locations.
